The first chapter of thie book was good.

Started out as a dystopic fiction but then they introduced these "creatures"  that suck the life out of you.... Completely change the genre.

I stopped reading it after the 3rd chapter.

Pygmy by Chuck Palahniuk

Monday, 25 May 2009 03:59 by ashleyreddy

I just read Pygmy by Chuck Palahniuk.  A very good read.  The entire book is written in a "Pigeon English".

Its about a Chinese Spy that infiltrates a US family and attempts an act of terrorism.

The main character reminds me of someone I used to work with...

I liked it because it represents a exaggerated view of American culture and an exaggerated view of how the rest of the world precieves the US.

Very comical yet true on some level.

This book is available as an audiobook as well.

This is a very good book and movie.

It takes place in WWII in southeast Asia.  It deals with life inside a POW camp and how a sargent effectively rules the camp because he is able manipulate the system.

The book as some addiitonal parts that take place in England that deal with the families of the men in the POW camps.

It also has elements of the Edwardian class system of England in that time period.
